These sail boats are used during the summer to teach young children the lessons on how to sail, It is in Sampit River in Georgetown SC. There were about 15 boats with the white sails and all the boats were the same deign. Each summer this sailing school is sponsored by the Maritime Museum and the children enjoy it so much. It really is a treat to watch them, having fun and learning at the same time. I hope you enjoy seeing this painting. I really did love painting it. It is framed with a white 1 inch frame, which seems to be perfect, picking up the white of the sails.
AUDREY MCLEOD - BIOGRAPHY Audrey McLeod has lived in the "Lowcountry" of South Carolina all her life. Even as a child she would be found drawing or painting and "making Art" in various ways. After high school she was accepted into an art school but went on to college, majoring in business. She continued to paint, taking workshops and studying with many prominent artists in the Carolinas and Georgia. Building on these lessons learned and encouraged by many friends, collectors, and instructors, she continues to pursue her art. Instructors have told her to "paint what you know and paint what you love". So, the scenes she creates focuses on color and light.
