This painting is my inspiration of an Island in the northern tip of Winyah Bay, near Georgetown SC.This composition details the island and the small boat that would be used to fish or shrimp in and around the island.. Sail boats are visible in the waters around Georgetown a large part of the year. These boats are part of the wonderful area surrounding our town. Behind our main street, adjacent to the bay is the Sampit River where these sail boats are anchored. The original is framed in a solid black frame approx. 2.50 inches wide.
AUDREY MCLEOD - BIOGRAPHY Audrey McLeod has lived in the "Lowcountry" of South Carolina all her life. Even as a child she would be found drawing or painting and "making Art" in various ways. After high school she was accepted into an art school but went on to college, majoring in business. She continued to paint, taking workshops and studying with many prominent artists in the Carolinas and Georgia. Building on these lessons learned and encouraged by many friends, collectors, and instructors, she continues to pursue her art. Instructors have told her to "paint what you know and paint what you love". So, the scenes she creates focuses on color and light.
